Guidance on how to develop a good question and experiment a design on Marine nocturnal life, activity and adaptations

Dear Sir,
I am doing a Science Project on Marine organisms- the nocturnal ones, their activity and adaptations.
I chose this topic because of my fascination for wildlife/marine life and because I am an open water diver and love to observe the animals and their activities during my dives.
For my project, I read a lot on nocturnal marine life and submitted a science proposal to show the adaptations and activity of marine organisms limiting to moray eel, octopus, squids and sharks. I studied about their structural and behavioral adaptations, habitats, etc. I also researched on bio-luminescence.
I even watched BBC documentaries and Ted Talks.
Being new in the USA, I did not know how exactly to go about the science project and how to choose a strong topic around which I can design an experiment too.
This particular topic is certainly of my interest. And I enjoyed researching too. But now I am confused on how do I base an experiment on marine creatures?
How do I show adaptations and camouflaging, or bio-luminescence? I know these not just by reading but I have seen these during my dives in the sea but how do we work on an experiment at school.
May be working on camouflaging is easier. But I can show it in photos but how to show a model or base an experiment? I am confused and stuck.
Do you think you can suggest something? Please
Thank you.
Mayank
