HI THERE,
I need help with yet another science fair project. I am trying to make a candy waterfall and I need to figure out what problem this could solve in real-life situations.
Thx,

Hello jeepers13,
I’m assuming that you are working on the project described here:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p091.shtml
This project is about how the sizes of granular materials influence the rates at which the materials flow. This kind of information might be used in the design and operation of factories that fill containers with grains, candies or other granular materials. For example cereal boxes need to contain the same mass of cereal. In a factory setting, boxes might move under a hopper that allows the cereal to flow into the box for an amount of time based on the mass flow rate of the cereal and the mass needed to fill the box.
I hope this helps. Please post again if you have more questions.
A. Norman
