Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

Hello , my name is Moraima and I am applying to a magnet high school for my sophomore year. I was really hoping to get some good ideas off of here, but I'm still skeptical ... please help x thank you.

The wizard and the other guides on the site can help you narrow down your choices to what really interests you. Then when we have something specific to go on, we can suggest some project ideas for you to think about.

Remember you are looking for something that interests you but also something where you can ask a question that has not been answered. Science is about increasing knowledge. What do you want to know? It has to be something that YOU can test, however. It's easy to think of interesting questions to ask but being able to answer them with the resources at your command can be a problem.

Scientists read a lot. And they think a lot. And THEN they act. They pick a subject that they can can study and choose a question that no one has studied yet. Maybe they get the answer they expected and maybe they find out something totally new and exciting. That's why doing science is one of the most fun things in the world.

Let us know what gets you inspired and we'll help you make a project out of it.
