I was scrolling through the list of materials and it said glucose tablets. I search up glucose tablets from stores near me. For every store, it showed up flavored glucose tablets like raspberry, grape etc. I was wondering if the glucose tablet had to be like plain or a certain flavor or it could be any flavor as long as it is glucose tablets.

Hi,

I don't think the flavoring matters. The yeast will use the glucose to ferment and that is what will produce the gas, CO2, that you are measuring.

Scientifically, you are correct. If you were doing this experiment in the lab you would use only glucose so that would be the only variable. If you wanted to be sure the flavoring was not affecting the yeast growth, you could get three different flavors. If your yeast produced the same amount of CO2 for each type of tablet then you could be fairly certain that the flavoring had no effect.

Let us know how your experiment with flavored glucose tablets turns out in case someone else later has the same question.
