Need help with quantifying the results of Gene mutations and drug response

hello,
I worked on the project on "Drugs and Genetics: Why do some people respond differently to drugs than others". I chose Atorvastatin as the drug and found how variations in certain genes causes codon sequence change in the DNA, mRNA, amino acid change and recorded the effect of this change.
Now I need to find some way to quantify the results. Perhaps using t-statistics.
My null hypothesis is that gene mutations have no affect on the response to Atorvastatin and and alternate is that gene mutations do have an effect. Can you please guide me on how to quantify the cause and effect?
Thank you!
