Hello,
I am conducting the experiment where different solutions are used to dissolve the iron in almond meal, and see which solution dissolves the iron the fastest. I am allergic to almond and would like to know if coconut meal would be an acceptable substitute. Coconut meal actually contains more iron than Almond meal.
Thanks,
Alexander

Hi,

The materials section suggests using wheat germ if you can't use almond meal: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... #materials

If coconut has more iron than almond meal then it should work, but you might want to also get some wheatgerm as a back-up just in case.

Let us know how it turns out.
