Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

For my school's science fair competition, my partner and I are going to test the reaction time between fine arts students and students who don't take a fine arts class. One problem, we have no clue how we are going to test this! Any suggestions? We have found some websites that allow you to click a button but is that scientific enough for an experiment. Please help.

If you have an experimental set up that allows measurement of reaction time, then you can measure the difference in reaction times of two different groups of students. This would meet the requirements of a science project and give you data that can be graphed. Here is a project idea from this website that describes a possible experiment:

Before you proceed with your project idea, however, I recommend doing some more background research. Science projects usually are based on a scientific principle, and I am curious to know why you think there would be a difference in the reaction times of students who take fine arts classes vs those that don't. Your project needs to have a purpose for doing it.
