Hi, i was just inquiring about you 'From Contaminated to Clean: How Filtering Can Clean Water' science experiment and wanted to know some of the risks involved in the experiment from using the materials you have listed.

I read through the list of materials for the project and the procedure and I don't see much risk.

I would use sterile garden soil purchased from a home supply store for the experiment because garden dirt can contain harmful organisms. The filter kit contains gravel, sand and activated charcoal, none of which is harmful when used the way it is described in the instructions; but still, whenever you are doing any kind of lab work, you should wear safety glasses and disposable gloves just to be sure.
