My Wire Recorder won't work and I need it finished ASAP. It is my half of my grade for this quarter. HELP ME!!

Please help me I can't get my wire recorder to work and it has to be done ASAP. It is my science grade for this quarter. I have checked all of my connections with a multimeter and I am using antique recording wire. However, I cannot get it to record or play back anything. I have the magnet wire coiled around the ferrite core 250-260 times so that shouldn't be the problem. Please help me ASAP.
