hcp and ccp holes! inorganic chemistry help please

i really dont understand holes in a structure. i read that there are 2n t holes for n o holes. so why is NaCl and other closed packed structures is this not the case? there's like 13 o holes and 12 t holes or something along those lines.

can anyone pleaseeee explain holes to me!
