Hi,
What exactly is your question? The Scibuddies background section to the blood clotting project has a very good explanation of the clotting process:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... background
and it also explains how the alginate and calcium chloride are used as stand-ins for blood and platelets.
Be sure to remember that this is a
demonstration of the principles of blood clotting. You are not doing an experiment with blood. A demonstration is different from an experimental science project where the scientific method is used to test a hypothesis. You need to make this clear so there is no confusion.
If I haven't answered your question, please repeat it and try to explain clearly what it is you don't understand. Are you confused by the word 'spherification'? It just means making spheres. That's what happens when you mix a drop of sodium alginate with calcium chloride. The calcium makes the alginate fibers 'clot' and they form a little ball. That is supposed to represent how your blood clots from a cut.
