Hello,

I am new to this forum and I need a bit of help. I have to attend to my child science fair. I want to show how the bioluminiscence works for 4th and 5th graders. Does anybody knows Where can I get some organism that are bioluminicents and an easy way to show them how they glow?.Do I have to keep them in the dark and then when I am ready to show the class just turn on a flashlight? I will have only 30 minutes to explain them and show them some life samples.

Thank you

Regards,

Beatiz

Hi Beatiz,

Welcome to Science Buddies. Bioluminscence is a challenging topic to present to 4th and 5th graders, but I think it's a great idea.

We do have one project on this topic and the background information included contains information that will help you with your presentation:

If your child will be doing a science project and has not decided what to do, I recommend using the topic selection wizard from this website to pick a subject.

A science fair project should include an experiment with one independent variable.

Please let us know if you have other questions.
