So, my class project-ish thing, is to write a sci-fi story with scientific realism... So my questions are weird and i really wished i cpuld just email someone, but here goes. My stories in a post nuclear war (fallout game series like setting)
Resources like electricity and gas are hard to come by. But water is not.i was wondering if some can explain hydrolysis. And electrolysis to me the process of splitting water molecules into hydrogen and oxygen. How does this create electricity? Asia and Antarctica researches are using hydrogen powered stoves. How does that work? And, the water fueletowelding torch that uses water to make flames? How does this work. Id like to have in my story it explained that the fire for stoves and flame throwers hydrogen powered, and the electric generated by hydrogen atoms making power.
Final questions is how did splitting hydrogen make a the hydrogen bomb. In my sci-fi story would it be plausible that same energy focused through a crystal could make a laser. While trying to study the whole hydrolysis it said it used a catalyst like platinum to make electricity from the split of water molecules. I read somewhere companies even in America. Wanna make home hydrogen fueled because its cleaner? Can you guys make sense of this to a minor science nutt

Hi Nekoking11,

A different set of online forums will be better able to help you. These ones are for K-12 students, parents, and teachers working on science fair projects.
