Hydrologists are basically scientists that study the water in the environment. The type of environment that they work in depends on the type of hydrologist they are. For example, they can be groundwater hydrologists, which study the water beneath the surface. Meanwhile, hydrologists can be above ground, and study water samples from streams, rivers, or ponds. Essentially, anywhere there is a water, a hydrologist can be there.
