I was looking at the project "Make Your Own Markers" on science buddies, and I wanted to do this for my science fair project but I don't know what the independent and dependent variables would be. Does anybody have any suggestions. Thank you!

Hi nancyttt,

Are you planning to do this project?
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... #procedure

If you tell us more about what specific choices you have made for your experiment, we can better guide you toward figuring out your variables. Are you making more than one natural dye? Are you following the project exactly, or doing something to make it your own?

Science buddies has some excellent information on identifying variables, but sometimes it can be a little tricky.

Take a look at this information:

If you are making only one natural dye and following the written procedure closely, think about how you would apply the variable definitions to just the "Chromatography Test" and see if that is clearer.

Good luck!
