Hi,
i have a project to prepare a bio-scope.
i need help with what type of the lens to use. i would be able to do the calculations. i just need the idea of type of lens required.
Problem:
I have a lcd screen displaying a video. I plan to put it inside a box.
I have to have a lens arrangement wherein an individual looks from outside with both the eyes on a big eyepiece ( or lens) and he should be able to see a virtual magnified image without any spherical aberration or distortion .

regards kashyap

Hi kashyap,
This is a very interesting project. I don't think I have heard the term bio-scope until now and, from what I found so far, it looks really interesting.

To make a long story short, this may be a good starting point (look on p. 266 or search for the term bioscope)

Based on everything I have seen, I don't think it matters what type of material you use for the lens as long as the arrangements are correct. Specifically, the scheme is

- convex lens - concave Lens - your right eye
- film strip
- convex lens - concave Lens - your left eye

Hopefully, this is of some help. Please let us know how your experiment turns out!
Good Luck!
