I am in the middle of figuring out exactly what I am going to test for science fair this year and find MFC's highly interesting. However when discussing my plans with my teacher it was brought to my attention that methane production could cause an exposition and that this would be a problem for the fair. I was wondering if there were any alterations I can make that would either account for methane production or that just doesn't produce any in the first place.
Thank you for your help it is greatly appreciated.

Hi OliviaD,
Is this the project you're looking at?

I don't think methane production should be an issue. If it is produced, it should be a minuscule amount. To be safe though, you'd want your experiment to be setup in an open space room with ventilation.
Hope this helps!

Yes that is what I was planning on doing. Thank you for the feed back. I feel a bit better stepping into this project knowing it isn't going to blow up at any given time. I will bring this up with my teacher and hopefully it wont be an issue.
Thanks again for giving me a second opinion it is greatly appreciated.
