Can M & Ms survive in places like grass and water?

HI! Do you know what is a good question for M and M's surviving in different places for five days (dirt, water, grass, esc.)?
Does an M&M's survival rate change depending on the environment?
How does the environment effect the decomposition of an M&M?
Will changing the ecosystem an M&M is left in change the decomposition time?
