Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

For my final science project I wanted to create my own chewing gum. From scratch.

I want to make the gum green, and sour apple flavored, I already have the information from my 11th grade chemistry teacher for those, though I do not know the chemical compound needed to create my own gum base.

Can anyone help me out?!?
