I am doing the project "From Genes to Genetic Diseases: What Kinds of Mutations Matter?"
I'm not sure what data I should collect and compare on the genetic database.
also, on the database is the info collected from one or many people?
Thanks.

Hi Lindsay,

On the NCBI website, you are collecting data that shows the various non-pathogenic and pathogenic mutations in cystic fibrosis just like it is listed in the first table on the project webpage. The information on NCBI is a collection of known mutations that occur by studying multiple people with the disease. These data can originate from various scientific studies that report the effects or presence of different genetic alterations of a specific disease. Are you able to properly locate the mutation information on the NCBI website?

Let us know if we can help you further.
