Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

We are doing "Gravitropism: Plants on the Move" experiment. Why does it call for coleus plants in particular? Can another type of plant be used if we can't find coleus plants? Are they fast-growing?

Good questions! I hope that another expert can also chime in to help. I'm not sure in particular why that type of plant is suggested. However, if you take a look at the "Make it Your Own" section, you will see some other suggestions you can try to vary the experiment using several different types of plants.
