The molecular structure of one type of alum can be represeted by the formula KAl(SO4)2·12H2O; is is thus apparent that this alum is a hydrate of aluminum potassium sulfate. Other types of alum and their formulas can be found at http://www.answers.com/alum#after_ad4.
