So, in order for me to do the science fair... I have to have a question to guide me throughout the project. I have already decided that for my independent variable, I am going to us the magnet to see how it effects the particles movement. My question is though, How would I word what i'm gonna measure and the variable into a sentence. How about... "When a magnet is held near charged particles will it make them alter there direction if so, which direction would they go?"

Hi Chicago23,
I think you have a great start on the question already. I would suggest re-phrasing it just a little bit to something like:
"How does a magnet in close proximity of charged particles affect their travel direction?"

If you like, please post what you come up with and we can give you feedback.
Good Luck!
Willey

One More Question, What type of category would this project be?
Physics, Chemistry or Energy. Please tell me. I need that info to fill out a form.

Hi Chicago23,
I would say that this falls under physics, or more specifically particle physics.
Good Luck!
