We are doing a bioinformatics project on myeloid leukemia we have been following the directions on https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... #procedure and we were having troubles from step 13 on. We did not get the 3D structure of the protein which is where we were stopped. The HGNC symbol is "MLF2" and the dbSNP rs # cluster id is "rs759027375". We would appreciate as much guidance as possible to get passed this problem. Thanks! :D

Welcome to Science Buddies!

Sorry to hear you are having trouble. Were you able to get to the listing of the 5 SNPs listed for MLF2?

It appears there are no 3D models for the gene you are investigating. You could still go through steps 17-end, to see other information about your gene.

You may want to try a new one, or you can report there are no models available through the Snp3d site. You can search for models in the PDB database (http://www.rcsb.org/pdb) and see if you find any. There are many proteins that do not have structures yet, so you may be working on one without a structure.

You could try to figure out why there are not structures available. Does it have features that make it difficult to obtain a crystal..etc?
