Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

i had a question, when do you recognize someone? I was wondering what does it mean to recognize someone. Like is it only their name that you have to remember to recognize them? Or do you only need to know what they look like? Or do you have to know where they live, what they do? And what else (if there's anything else) do you need to know about that person to be able to recognize them?
