Reviving freeze-dried pellet of marine bacteria

I am conducting an experiment involving the marine bacteria Alcanivorax borkumensis, and I have some questions over the reviving of it. I plan on cultivating this bacteria in marine broth with sodium pyruvate in plates. After I revive the pellet with 5-6mL of medium, do I just place the liquid in a test tube? If so, how long do I wait before I inoculate the plates with it? I've found plenty of information on how to inoculate bacteria growing on agar into liquid mediums, but I have not been able to find any information on how to put the 5-6mL mixture of bacteria and broth onto plates. In addition to this, how much broth will I have to use on the plates. I know these are a lot of questions, but I know that this is the site for them. If anyone could help me at all, that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
