Hi huwilson00,
So to set up this project to make sure that the drop heights are consistent each time, I think that a ring stand could be useful. You can attach something to the ring stand to hold up whatever you're dropping at the same height each time. You can measure how high it is on the ring stand for each drop height. This can help to make sure the drop height is consistent between trials.
You might have used a ring stand in chemistry (if you've taken it already), but if not, there should be some at your school.
