Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

Hi, I came up with the question for my project in design.


What if earth got hit by the meteorite in the next hundreds years (or more/or less) and destroy all the living things in the world (same things that happen with the Dinosaurs). The world will take million years to heal and after that it will be life coming on earth. Human are creatures that Possibly evolved from Dinosaurs (as I mean the Earth or space or whatever made the earth/Galaxy are developing creatures to become more intelligent like Us compare to Dinosaurs or animals). So what will be on Earth after we Million years extinct? What possible creature could it be on Earth? How intelligent would they be? What would they look like? I just want an opinion, more like a theories of what would you think it would be.

Very interesting question! The current assumption in astrophysics and astrobiology is that if there's another planet in the universe with life on it, it will follow the same or at least very similar evolutionary and innovative path that we did.
There's actually already a large number of very interesting and "strange" organisms on Earth, that are much different than humans, but followed similar evolutionary path (https://www.nps.gov/yell/planyourvisit/ ... es_web.pdf).
