COnverting Sucrose to Glucose: Testing Glucose Concentration in Foods

I was wondering when testing the glucose concentration in the 10% sucrose solution what should be the starting percentage. When I dipped the glucose test strip in the solution and took it back out and waited for 30 seconds for the color to change, as the glucose strip sat on the side, the color kept getting darker does that affect anything. My results only went from a darker green to brown. I was wondering how the graph should look and what the starting value should be. And any tips on accurately measuring the glucose concentration in the solution
