[Please don't delete this post. I am writing it as part of teacher-preparation assignment that focuses on the integration of technology and teaching practices]

For the purposes of this assignment, I decided to do what I preach and identify a tool that meets a specific and intentional goal. The goal, as I defined it, was to find tools that students (and perhaps teacher) could use to ask and answer science-related questions.

One of the most significant tenets of science is collaboration - using the knowledge of others to refine your own, and offer your own insight to inform others. And while the Internet is not short of places for people to interact and share ideas, environments that also support meaningful curation and quality discussion are unfortunately too far and between.

sciencebuddies.org was therefore an exciting find, as it appears to offer both of those qualities robustly. From what my short exploration revealed, this forum holds a lively and active community that facilitates both learning and science-related communications. I can easily identify how this tool could be used in the context of a classroom, where students could be instructed to either ask or answer questions, and thus engage with a larger community of scientists and science-learners.
