Hi, for a science competition, I want to do something with blood. For example, mixing the influenza virus and seeing how it reacts with different types of blood, like high sugar, low, and normal blood. However, I am wondering if the virus would still react with the blood cells if they're not active anymore. Thank you, and if you have any suggestions instead of a virus that would be incredibly helpful.

Hi,
I have added a link from the sciencebuddies site for you to consider about the use blood in a science competition. After reading through the rules, regulations, and requirements for using a biological agent, then you can decide if you are able to proceed with your project idea.

There also may be challenges in obtaining access to the influenza virus for a science project.
I have added a link to resources found on the sciencebuddies site to give you many different project ideas that pertain to viruses, immunology, or blood.
I hope this helps give you an idea on what route to take for your project idea.
