Extracting DNA

How long should I wait, once I have added the alcohol to my Strawberry solution of strawberries, detergent and salt before I will see the DNA strands appear?

I cannot tell you how long it may take, but I'd guess it should be several minutes or so. How long are you waiting? What do you see between the layers? Can you pull any of the DNA up with a skewer as described in the methods?
