Hello! I'm doing a project where I am growing E. Coli, and Enterobacteria aerogenes, and similar bacteria. Is LB miller agar okay to use?

Hi,

Luria-Bertani (LB) agar is fine for E. coli and I think E. aerogenes would also grow well on it. If you have any doubts just swab some on an LB plate, incubate it at 35C and look for growth.

Be careful with these human pathogenic bacteria and put the plates and anything that comes in contact with the bacteria in a pail of water containing 10% Clorox bleach for an hour before disposing of them in a sealed bag in the trash.
