In the project "How Greasy are your potato chips?" what would be considered "The Control"?

This project is a bit tricky as the procedure does not specify a control! Controlled variables are quantities that a scientist wants to remain constant, and must be observed as carefully as the dependent variables. In this experiment what factors are staying the same when you test different types of potato chips? Are you using the same weight of chips? The same type and size of graph paper? The same length of time rolling with the rolling pin? These would all be examples of controlled variables.

In addition to the controlled variables that audreyln suggested, you could also include the same amount of time the graph paper spends hanging in front of the window, the same type of wax paper you use, the same amount of time that the chips spend resting on the paper...anything that you don't change in the experiment (i.e. anything besides the type of potato chip!) I hope this helps!
