Spare a Watt, Save a Lot

Good Afternoon,
I am currently doing the "Spare a Watt, Save a Lot" project. I have recorded my data for my chosen appliances. The only part I am having trouble on is step 9(finding the average power consumption). I have no clue as to how to find the average power consumption for the appliances. My project is due on Tuesday, and I could really use the help! May you help me?

Do I calculate it like this?: :? :?:
An average is the sum of a list of numbers divided by the number of numbers in the list.

Example list:

10, 15, 16, 22, 10, 8, 12, 24, 9, 14

total number of numbers = 10

total sum = 140

average = 140 / 10 = 14

Hi KiKiM,

I'm assuming that you're working on the project described here:

First of all, you correctly described how to calculate the average of a list of numbers.

The project procedure directs you to make 3 power consumption measurements for each of your chosen appliances. So for each appliance you'd sum the values from the 3 measurements and divide the sum by 3. Of course you'd use the number of measurements you made if it's different from 3.
