Is it Getting Hot in Here? Investigate the Greenhouse Effect

When recreating this project we are having problems with the thermometers used. Already two have exploded. The one placed inside the greenhouse explodes. We live in Florida, USA. Any recommendations?

The project requires a scientific thermometer (like the one linked in the materials). This kind of thermometer would go up to more than 250 degrees F.
What temperatures have you been recording?
A regular thermometer would not work for this experiment, which may be the problem you are having.
