Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

Does the act of proton decay release energy into our universe? And if it does, once all of the matter in the universe has decayed, what form will that energy have in a matter-less universe; will it have converted into heat or other forms of radiation?

The Science Buddies "Ask the Expert" forum is for students in grades K-12 who are doing science projects. If you are doing a science project and need help, please tell us more details about your experiment, including your hypotheses and how you plan to conduct an experiment to test your hypotheses.
