Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

Hello!
I’m a rising college freshman and I’d love to get with a professor and possibly shadow him/her and help out in the lab. Right now I’m researching professors at the closest university who are doing research that I’m interested in. Should I tell them which college that I’m going to? Do you think it’ll be a strange dynamic because I’m going to a different university in the fall?
