"Crime Scene Chemistry- The Cool Blue Light of Luminol" is the project I am doing. I am a little bit confused on what the control group is. Is it room temperature? Also, if I include a control group, will the kit that is linked in the "materials" have enough contents to test the room temperature (control), hot, and cold temperatures? I hope that I won't have to buy 2 kits.

Hi,
I think your control group could be room temperature or the temperature of the hot tap water(instead of 50 degrees Celsius, let the water be 70 degrees Celsius).
This link has some information on what a control group is:

According to the website, the Cool Blue light experiment does not include a thermometer so I think you would have to provide that on your own if you choose to do a control group.
I hope that's helpful!
Peace
