The more scientific steps can be:
1. take two teeth and clean them with strong teeth paste and make very identically white.
2. intentionally "dye" them with coffee (stain them)
3. dip one in soda, one in plain water
4. count the timing
5. measure the color change. This could be a difficult part and below is the link for professional color measurement(check:
http://www.lrc.rpi.edu/programs/nlpip/l ... easure.asp).
6. if you cannot afford the professional measurement on color, you can just count the time when the teeth become enough white by visual
7. you can try different soda concentration (add and count the amount of the soda powder into the water)
8. then you can compare and get the function of the time to clean the teeth and the soda concentration.
Have fun and wish success!

I think people often use eggshell as a model for teeth, since eggs are easier to find than teeth!

I agree with the egg shell idea since "take two teeth" could be a problem, though a quick check of eBay shows some cow teeth for sale.
