Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

I know that I have repressed memories of childhood trauma. However, I have done extensive research and am still left with questions. 2 in particular: does the brain occasionally send signs of repressed memories (smells, emotions, sights, etc) and how can I healthily gain access to these memories in order to heal?
