Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

Hi there
My son is doing the microbial fuel cell project, but wants to build his own kit so he learns more that way. However, we can't find graphite fiber anywhere - can you help me find a source of this material, or recommend an alternate conductor that could work in this application?
