How does wraping a wifi router in aluminum help speed up the speed

Hey, i would to know why does a WiFi connection get stronger when we wrap the WiFi router in aluminum. I looked it up and i see things like it blocks WiFi, I don't understand. According to my tests, aluminum made my WiFi speed faster. I get both results that aluminum makes WiFi speed faster but it also blocked radio waves. I'm confused.. Someone please tell me why and how does aluminum make WiFi faster. Thanks a lot.

Placing aluminum (or some other material) between a WiFi router and a signal strength meter will attenuate the radio frequency signal from the router as explained in the background section of the project at the above link. WiFi speed refers to how fast data can be moved via the router. A small attenuation of the router's radio frequency signal shouldn't have any effect on data transfer speed.
