Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

The student I am working with has chosen to do the project comparing two point and four point measurements of resistance using a multimeter.

I am not at all sure what I need to do the four point measurement and how to go about it.

I'm assuming that you are working on the project described here:

A reference in the project bibliography has a description of how to make four wire resistance measurements:

To make the circuit shown in the reference (3rd diagram from the top) you need a battery and two multimeters. One multimeter is set to measure current (ammeter), the other is set to measure voltage (voltmeter).

An online search on “4 wire resistance measurement” may provide additional information that may be useful.
