I'm going to do the science project on Cryopreservation-freezing plant tissues...and when i was researching I came across what is vitrification..where a process is used to get rid of ice crystals in the product to be frozen. I wrote this down in my backround report, and my teacher asked me if that is true, then why wouldn't i need to vitrify my seeds...I don't know either! please help me!

Hi AnaV,
What do you think the ice crystals are made of? (don't think too hard on this, its basically what ice is made of)
Do seeds have any of the ice-forming substance inside them? Are seeds wet or dry?
Hopefully that helps you answer your question. If not post back and we can keep talking through it.
