Experiment help

Hello I'm Anna and I'm currently needing help .
Heres is my question I'm investigating. 'testing effectiveness of isotonic beverages on increasing/decreasing someones performance through push-ups' . But the issue is the independent and dependent variables must be quantitative- does anyone have any ideas what they could be? I do not mind if u have to make a modification to the question as long as both variables are quantitative and please outline a procedure as well.
And basically what i'm doing is giving people a certain ml of different isotonic drinks, and recording their results after they drink and do push-ups.
What graph do you think is appropriate and some controlled variables? The controlled variables I have right now are like variables like diet and etc. Also what do you think the qualitative and quantitative observations of this experiment is going to be?
Please help a year 9 girl out! It would be very much appreciated
