Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

Hello, are there any project ideas that have nothing to do with living things? This year I'm obligated to not test on any living things including people, animals, plants, and bacteria. It has to do with chemistry and something that can improve society/world.

I came here to ask if there are any ideas that live up to that because I have trouble finding one here.
