What type of graph should I use?

I’m doing the science fair project on “Measuring Your Threshold of Hearing for Sounds of Different Pitches”. I have tested 30 people between the ages of 7 an 81 for eight different frequencies. How should this be on a graph and which type of graph should I use? Thank you!

Hey there!

Your project is really cool — I admire the patience you took to test 30 people across such a wide age range! Nice work

I actually think a table would work very nicely for this data. Label the columns with the frequencies and the rows with the age, then check off the boxes that correspond to the frequencies each person heard.

You could also use a graph with the frequencies on the x axis and the ages on the y axis. Determine the highest and lowest frequencies heard by each subject, plot them, and connect each pair so that you have horizontal lines across the graph. This is a good way to show how the hearing range changes as age increases/decreases.

Hope this helps! Feel free to ask any follow up questions or for any clarification :)
