Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

I have a sibling who is in the 4th grade that needs to do a science fair project, our mother has assigned me to develop a research method and see other students studies. I have searched far and wide and yet I have not been able to find any other projects done by kids in school, if possible could someone link another students science fair project that asked if their dog(s) watched tv and or liked any specific channels. Thank you in advance.

This is a very interesting and unusual question and I'm sorry I couldn't find an existing project similar to it. There are some other ideas online about science fair projects involving dogs, but not about dogs and TV viewing.

One way to approach this may be to have at least 2-3 dogs in the experiment and then separately check if they pay attention to the TV and if specific channels generate more attention. You could also test if a video with dogs in it (let's say with no volume) captures their fancy and makes the dog(s) more excited.

Though they are not science fair projects, I bet you could use some of this information in your presentation and have it inspire your experimentation! Personally, I know my dog has paid attention to the TV when there are other animals (especially dogs) on the screen and making noises because she hears their calls as if they were in person. This could be interesting to test (whether or not animals listen and watch other animals, and if so, what type of animals?)
