Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

I am not actually sure if my last question posted. I understand the process of the background research. I'm just not sure how it is supposed to be included into the research plan/paper. For the research plan, is the background research supposed to be in a keyword outline format, or in full paragraph(s) form? Same for the research paper. Which format? I'm lost, and am not seeing an actual sample of how to format the plan or the paper.

You will want to make sure you consult any specific requirements or guidelines for the project and report from the teacher (or science fair).

On the Science Buddies site, however, in the Project Guide, you will find an overview of the steps of a typical student science project. Background research is an early step in the process. This research helps inform the project you plan to do.

If you look farther down on the Project Guide, you will find a sample research paper provided that can help you see how background research was included. (This step is in the Communicating Results section. Background research also gets included in other ways, so be sure and look at all of those sections.)
